This is a season of giving, and giving usually means buying. Money is complicated, and I haven't quite figured out where my relationship stands today with it yet, but I'm getting there.  My history with money is:  not thinking about it, then thinking about it and despising it, then feeling guilty about it, and ultimately wanting it but not willing to do what it I believed I had to do to get it. Now I have made peace with my conflicting views of money, and I often spend it and give it relatively freely (within reason of course). I have come to learn that this has started to free me from feeling like I was controlled by money. Instead, I have begun the process of reclaiming money I earn as my own, and using it as a tool. I don't need a lot of it, but I do need it for some of things I want to do (retire, travel, eat healthy food, be able to provide my family with what they need). I have learned and have experienced firsthand the power of attracting what we desire for our highest and best purposes. Making an investment in my own personal and professional development has changed the course of my life's path. I am already receiving what I have put into it with money, and more.  I shared this experience with a female acquaintance of mine, who was worried about paying the hourly rate I was requesting for Tarot readings. She had been feeling like she needed some guidance in her life and was curious about the Tarot, but was concerned about spending money. I shared the following thoughts with her:  Putting the intention out there with money can set the ball rolling on the path to our taking charge of our lives and how it will unfold for us. When we are paying for something, we are much more likely to work hard to reap the benefits.  My friend recognized this and is contemplating the notion that sometimes making a lasting change for ourselves starts with this tangible commitment. Setting priorities for our lives can sometimes start with putting money down, making our efforts toward personal growth even more real, valuable and attainable in our own eyes.
