The Present Moment

It is easy to think ahead to the future... "When I have this, then I will be happy."  Being satisfied with the present moment usually only happens on the weekends, or on vacation. A source of infinite wisdom (Abraham Hicks) once said that we are often too busy chasing happiness so we miss the happy moments that come in between.  For life is just a series of happy moments. I have been itching to make some changes in my career, and have been battling with looking for a solution, for an outcome, to act upon. Normally, I would take action, but since this new career path is guided by my intuition, I am working to do it differently this time and stay with the process. I know that my thinking mind craves security and comfort.  My soul, though, knows that jumping into a scary place allows me to evolve.

I have started with working on the awareness of my inclination and then can work with the feeling from there. Emotions are what make us human. If we can learn to recognize our emotions when they occur, then we can more easily understand that our souls are not our emotions.  Emotions are fleeting; our soul is not. Recognition of our emotions starts with getting quiet through meditation.
