The Energy of Earth and the Eclipse

Dear human alive in these activation times,

This past week we were in California visiting relatives. The coastline of California is truly stunning... moving amongst redwoods to the ocean crashing against the cliffs is a humbling experience. Even though the trip was busy seeing cousins, aunts, uncles and friends, I took some time to go inward and connect in with the elements of the Earth and her creatures.

We have the opportunity to open our hearts to the Earth in this month of April. The planet Mercury is in retrograde right on the heels of a total solar eclipse passing through much of the United States (including right here in Maine!). With all this powerful soul activation energy, we are being asked to go inward, to reflect and to respect the Earth more deeply than ever before.

I was reminded of this during our trip this past week.

The towering redwood trees (some around for over 2,000 years, here when Jesus walked the Earth!) reminded me of the wise, ancient energy in the rocks of Stonehenge. Their messages to me were that they have seen many things on the planet, and they are grateful that humans are now understanding how to work in harmony with Mother Earth, rather than taking from or harming her.

Then, as we went out to sea near the Channel Islands, hundreds of dolphins swam with our boat, frolicking and whizzing along. They reminded us to find joy in life, and to play.

Yet the most powerful connection I felt was with the whales – first a gray whale migrating to Alaska and then a few humpback whales we followed for a while. As they were under the surface near the boat, I linked in with their hearts. The messages they shared with me were that humans are getting ready to receive the light-codes that the whales and dolphins, as holders of the Akashic Records of the history of Earth, have to offer us. And this upcoming solar eclipse on April 8th will serve as an “upgrade” of sorts, allowing us to embody higher frequencies as we move into elevated states of consciousness. This is a 5th Dimensional guided meditation on accessing our Higher Selves to help us move into expanded states of consciousness, in alignment with the Earth.

If you can make it into the path of totality for the eclipse this coming Monday, I highly encourage you to do so! I was able to see a total solar eclipse in the Wyoming in 2017, and it was surreal. I believe that each time we witness a cosmic event such as these, we are more deeply aligning with our galactic, multi-dimensional selves and with our indigenous ancestors who understood how to align with the stars.

This is truly a magical time we are living in. And, to more deeply attune to the Earth and her creatures, and to the messages they have for you, you may want to check out the Intuition Development 101 Class series (5 classes meeting online starting early May) to fully open your third eye, clear away fear and begin to receive healing information to guide you in any aspect of life.

With blessings to you as always,

Rachel

P.S. I am so excited to now be a "Certified Master Trainer" in hypnotherapy with the IMDHA/IACT hypnotherapy association. Stay tuned for a hypnotherapy certification program I'll be offering soon. I can't wait!

Processing our Grief for the Earth

After a busy holiday season, I have been giving myself a bit of a break, just absorbing the beauty of the season and allowing myself rest.

I am deeply grateful that the Intuitive Guide Certificate program is almost full, with a group of lovely people joining me for the next 10 months. It has been truly amazing to hear the hopes and dreams of the brave souls who have decided to say "yes" to this journey, and to be able to support them in getting there.

And yet the cycles of life continue. Sometimes things happen to us that are totally unexpected and that throw us for a loop.

I awoke one morning last week to loud clanking sounds, and to machines plowing through the forest behind our house. When I realized what was happening, the next few days became filled with a sense of helplessness and grief due to a situation totally out of my control (a lesson in control for me, to be sure).

The machines began cutting down a number of trees on the property (40 acres of woods) next to ours, for the selective cutting of timber. This brought me an overwhelming and maddening feeling of sadness I have not felt in some time.

Every day for the past 3 years I have gone into the woods on daily walks with my dog, hugging a tree each time and sitting, meditating and doing yoga by streams.

This felling of trees (and destruction of a magical area of rocks by a stream) broke my heart. I cried for a few days about it, spending time by the area that was once the peaceful trickling waterfall, and apologizing for not doing better in saving it.

It was amazing at how much grief I felt. The aching in my heart was so intense, so visceral. It was as if someone had died.

I realized how strong a connection I had formed with the water, the trees and the space that had become one of my safe, sacred spots. It felt so painful that this destruction had happened, and that there was nothing I could do about it.

Sometimes we just can't feel better, and sometimes there is no "positive" aspect to a situation. It just sucked.

I allowed myself to just grieve. And yet, when I saw my kids grieving as well, I tried to find the light in the situation. Maybe there would be more trails for us to ski on. Maybe this would help the forest regenerate (as there had been lots of deadfall).

When I was ready, I went out into the area that was now a clearing, placed a flower on the sacred area and said goodbye.

I paused and listened to what I felt the remaining trees wanted to share with me. They told me, “We’re still here. We are here to be of service.”

And I was reminded of the cycle of life, and how our home is made of trees, our wood stove is fueled by trees and we live here in a space where lots of trees were once cut down.

The forest reminded me that it will return. Other parts of the stream are still there, and it will recover.

While allowing myself to mourn the loss of what was, I also am doing my best to put it into perspective. I feel better now, and have a sense of acceptance of it all.

So tonight, in the Circle of Light bi-monthly meditation, I will lead us in a guided meditation on The Messages of Nature to help us really connect with the natural world in a deep way, finding hope in the grief we may have. Please join me here on Zoom or in the Souls Gathering Together Facebook group, Wednesday, January 10th from 8-8:20ish pm EST.

Below is a writing reflection that you may find helpful in processing your own negative emotions, an excerpt from my book, Tools for the Awakening Soul: A Guide to Activate Your Intuition and Uncover Your Life's Purpose.

May we allow ourselves to miss what once was, yet find hope for the possibilities of what can come.

Releasing Heavy Feelings

Take a moment to reflect on any negative emotions, using the cues here to guide you. Feel free to skip or expand on any section. Elaborate on any emotions that come up. Keep going until you feel done. When you feel a release, you'll know.

I feel:

I feel:

I feel:

I feel:

Underline some of the feelings you expressed in the previous sentences (frustrated, confused, sad, etc.). This can help to clearly see and separate from them as an "observer" of your life. Now continue.

I feel like:

I am worried about:

I am scared that:

Now let's try to move onward and upward.... What lesson might there be in this experience?

Even though it's hard, how can I accept some part of my present situation?

I want:

I will:

I still wonder:

I ask for:

What else is still coming up? Express it here, or continue to use the I want, I ask for, I will, I feel statements as guides:

Hopefully you now feel some release and separation from your emotions. You may want to continue clearing heavy emotions through verbal processing (talking with a trusted friend), moving your body (dancing, punching something), or doing something creative (like drawing or painting). Crying and yelling - not at someone but just in general - are incredibly effective emotional releases. And, you can do this writing reflection as many times as you like.

After a few days/weeks or so, you may find that you feel better and even healed through the inner work you’re doing! If not, don't give up - this is a temporary situation and it will get better. You are loved. You are supported. And you, and all of us here on Earth, are on a path to evolve. The heavy emotions are just part of learning and growing in the human experience.

Being Present: Weather, Pole Shifts and Divine Guidance

Sometimes we forget how to just be.

I realized that my striving for the next thing I was working on in my life was bringing up some bizarre, irrational thoughts. One morning, in meditation, I decided to tunnel into the feeling (which was a green, spiky emotion in my solar plexus). It led me to a past life, a new scene in a past life I was familiar with (in an old English country village where I would teach children about magic but was persecuted for it). I re-lived some moments, and then talked to my past life self to help her heal and to re-write the story.

I then brought in some new mantras (reframed thoughts - which my clients are very familiar with and which I share a lot about in my book, as many of you know). I have been using those mantras and working on flipping the thoughts around in the past few days and some incredible things have happened around me, and for me as a result.

When we can be in the present moment (and this has been coming up a lot in sessions for clients), we move into a state of receiving the gifts that the universe (or our Divine guides/angels) want to send us.

With the 4th of July celebration upon us, it's a time to practice being in a state of receiving... to bask in the energy of joy, and fun. I have been given the message by my spirit team (Archangel Michael in particular) that life isn't supposed to be so serious!

Yes, we can give our attention to all the bad, scary things that seem to be happening around us, or threatening to happen around us (which is what the mainstream news does nonstop), or we can shift our perspective to what is good and real.

This doesn't mean we are denying what doesn't feel good, but we are choosing to focus our energies on peace, patience, inner calm and, eventually, maybe even joy.
